ABOUT

Why we
built Maloo.

For the educators doing the most important work there is: raising and teaching our youngest children.

OUR STORY

It started with a
frustration every early
childhood educator
knows.

A genuinely good activity takes real thought: the right developmental focus, materials actually in the room, and a way to include every child. That thinking usually happens late at night, unpaid, from scratch.

We thought that work deserved better tools. Not a screen to put in front of children, but a smarter way to get a screen-free activity onto the table, shaped to the exact group in the room.

So Maloo does the heavy thinking, and the teaching stays where it belongs: with the teachers.

“I went looking for a tool that respected educators’ time and never put a screen in front of a child. It didn’t exist. So I built it.”

WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Three convictions,
in everything we make.

  • Screen-free by conviction

We believe the youngest children learn with their hands, their bodies, and each other. The planning happens on a screen. The learning never does.

  • Respect for educators

You know your group. Maloo drafts, you decide. Every card is a starting point that trusts your judgment.

  • Built with, not for

Every feature is shaped by working educators who told us what planning really costs: evenings, energy, and attention.

ADVISERS

Guided by expertise in child development and inclusion.

“You don’t need expensive equipment to support development. You need the right activity for your exact group, built from what’s already in the room.”

Child Development Specialist

PhD in Clinical Psychology, Moscow State University

Katya holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Moscow State University and has spent her career at the intersection of child development, early education, and psychological support for families. She has served as Director of Toddler Curriculum at Pampa Green and as a psychologist and toddler teacher at Ogo-Gorod Family Center, with clinical grounding from a children’s psychiatric hospital and AMBN Medical Children’s Center, where she built the toddler development program from the ground up. She brings academic rigor, classroom experience, and clinical judgment to every Maloo activity.

“The inclusion strategies are organized the way specialists actually think, by access barrier, not by diagnosis. Teachers get modifications they can use the same day, with a clear line drawn: these support a classroom, they never replace a child’s IEP.”
